About NDC
NDC’s foundations were forged in 1987 when Fletcher Bickerton built a new 10,000 sq ft works in Manchester to service the Electro-Mechanical market in the North West. This was a substantial £1m+ investment and the new business was known as Fletcher Bickerton (Northern) Ltd.
2007
August 2007 saw the relocation of our Southern Service Centre to cope with an increasing demand for its services.
Production capacity at the new Slough Service Centre has been increased by 100% and has furnished the company with an opportunity to recruit additional engineering personnel and to further invest in bespoke testing facilities. This service centre is pivotal in terms of the support that NDC is able to give to the key markets of the South East and Greater London areas, both as a hub for Field Service Teams and workshop repair and test services. NDC welcomes applications from suitably experienced / qualified electronics engineers. Please see our recruitment page for further information.
2005
CPM and NDC continue to develop and monitor service levels through a unique and rigorous customer excellence programme. Due to continued expansion NDC are also looking to recruit several key positions in technical and sales management positions. Please see our recruitment page for details.
2004
Due to increased growth NDC South East relocated to a dedicated 3,000 sq ft site in Slough. This allowed the company to offer a greater range of services to customers including 24 hour rapid response and the ability through advanced new equipment, to fully functionally test more electronic equipment.
2003
NDC added another Customer Service Centre from a green field site in Nottingham. Together, these three strategically located sites ensured NDC could now offer a complete nation-wide service.
1999
FBNL changed its name to CPM (Complete Plant Maintenance Engineering Ltd).
This was part of the original 'buy out' agreement and the name better described the companies main activities which now included a range of plant maintenance capabilities from more traditional repairs work to on-site services, customer care programmes, condition based monitoring, stores management and asset management programmes.
In 1999 Northern Drives & Controls outgrew its facility at Barton Dock Road and was relocated to a dedicated 6,000 sq ft electronics laboratory facility in Trafford Park, Manchester. Over this short time the company had grown its customer base substantially and become known as a reliable repairer of industrial electronic equipment from a wide range of different manufacturers.
Further that year the company also acquired McCall's Electronics Company of Whitchurch Hampshire and renamed it NDC to service the electronics and automation market in the southeast.
1997
Following rapid expansion, Northern Drives & Controls was formed as a division of FBNL in Manchester to service the emerging electronic and automation repair market.
1993
Fletcher Bickerton (Northern) was bought from the group by the then MD David Griffin.
